Wirral Lions Clubs supporting communities during COVID-19 crisis

Wirral Lions Club has received a £1000 share of a £100,000 special fund from the Lions Clubs Foundation of the British Isles launched to support critical needs in local communities during the COVID-19 crisis.

Wirral Lions Club will utilise the grant, in addition to its own donation of £500, to assist Age UK Wirral in their initiative to support their most vulnerable clients where isolation at this critical time is of major concern.

Lion President Geoffrey Boswell said: “This is a significant sum of money that we are putting to good use straightaway in our community. The Coronavirus pandemic is causing a lot of pain and suffering for everybody and if we can help quickly then hopefully we can ease that pain.’’

When a humanitarian crisis strikes, the Lions Clubs Foundation of the British Isles works with, and are guided by, their own Lions members who are ordinary people actively working at the heart of their communities.

Wirral Lions Club supports a range of good causes and local projects. For more information or to become involved, please contact Dave Forshaw, 0151 648 9157.
