01 Apr Kingsmead School Collects Prestigious ‘Genius Within’ Award for Inclusive Education
Kingsmead School in Hoylake, has been awarded a prestigious national accolade at the ‘Genius Within’ Neurodiversity Awards for ‘Most Inclusive Education Provider.’
The judges were overwhelmed by the number of nominations from Kingsmead parents and families, and were wowed by the details of the glowing reviews and positive feedback about the education and support being provided for children at the school.
Parent Governor Claire Lanceley said: “Kingsmead parents all know that there is no other school quite like it. We have so many children here who, for a multitude of different reasons, would not achieve the same amazing outcomes in any other setting.”
Since 1904, Kingsmead School has been marked out for its remarkably caring, family ethos and pupil-centred approach to learning with class sizes of less than 16, which are the smallest in Wirral and the wider area. The dedicated teaching staff are highly-trained to support children to discover their passions and develop their strengths, including those with more specific learning needs.
The Kingsmead approach to enhanced learning has produced an exceptional academic record, with GCSE and 11+ pass rates of over 80%. The Sixth Form provides 1:1 tuition at A Level, a level of individual support rarely seen elsewhere in the region.
Headmaster of Kingsmead School, Mark Gibbons, added:
“At Kingsmead we provide a holistic and wholly pupil-centred education where the children are known and taught as individuals, and our results speak for themselves. Support, respect and affection are part of everyday life here and we combine high expectations of conduct with ready praise for effort, providing an exceptional start in life for children.”
Early Years education is also available from Kindergarten to Reception, (ages 2 to approximately 5) with 15 hours of free nursery education grant funding currently offered. Wrap-around care is also available at Holiday Club and after-school club for all ages, 49 weeks a year.
